Composition of the approval file of an employee representative
The employee representative may not have an agency.
Profile of the agent (Articles 329, 502, 506, 506, 515 of the CIMA Code)
either have an Insurance Technician Diploma (DTA) from the International Insurance Institute (IIA) or any other diploma deemed equivalent by the IIA and have completed a six (06) month internship in an insurance organization ;
either have the IIA Diploma of Technical Insurance Agent (DATA) or any other diploma deemed equivalent by the IIA and have at least two (02) years’ professional experience in the insurance sector ;
either fulfil the conditions of professional competence provided for in Article 329 of the CIMA Code ;
meet the conditions of good repute (Article 506 of the CIMA Code) ;
for the Employee Representative appointed in charge of an agency, meet the professional capacity requirements required of brokers or General Agents.
Profile of the head of the agency (Articles 329, 506, 514 of the CIMA Code)
either have a Master’s degree in Technical Insurance Sciences (MSTA) from the International Insurance Institute (IIA) or any other diploma deemed equivalent by the IIA and have completed a six (06) month professional internship in an insurance organization (Article 514 of the CIMA Code) ;
either have an IIA Insurance Technician Diploma (DTA) or any other diploma deemed equivalent by the IIA and have at least two (02) years’ professional experience in the insurance sector (Article 514 of the CIMA Code), in particular in the production or application of insurance contracts ;
either have exercised on a full-time basis for at least two years as an executive or manager of an enterprise, functions of responsibility in an industrial or commercial enterprise, as well as the completion of a professional internship of at least six (06) months (Article 514 of the CIMA code) ;
either fulfil the conditions of professional competence provided for in Article 329 of the CIMA Code ;
meet the conditions of good repute (Article 506 of the CIMA Code).
Composition of the file
1) The Insurance Company having mandated the General Agent or having appointed its Agents or the Broker shall send one (01) stamped request, specifying the applicant’s branch office, to the Minister in charge of the insurance sector (Article 518 of the CIMA Code) accompanied by the following documents:
2) two (02) photos 4 x 4 ;
3) a certified true copy of the birth certificate less than six (06) months old ;
4) an extract from a criminal record bulletin No. 3 less than three (03) months old ;
5) a curriculum vitae dated and signed ;
6) a declaration form (CIMA model), signed by the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance
7) a certified copy of the diploma appearing in the list published by the CRCA ;
8) a certificate of presentation of the original of the diploma ;
9) a booklet or certificate of professional internship if applicable ;
10) a certificate of function ;
11) an employment contract ;
12) the last three pay slips ;
13) a DIPE coupon ;
14) the CNPS registration number ;
15) a certificate of nationality ;

17) any other document deemed necessary.
